Emmie
**Emmie is in a foster home currently undergoing treatment for heartworm**
Emmie is a social butterfly who's one requirement is owners who love to cuddle! Emmie is 3-4 years old and 38 pounds. She does well with other dogs, but isn't overly playful, so she'd do well with a calmer dog who likes short play sessions. She loves to chase tennis balls. Emmie adores people and would also flourish being your one and only, more attention for her! Emmie is heartworm positive and can only be adopted by a VT resident. Emmie has some teeth that may need to come out, and has an appointment on March 5th. She can be seen and adopted before this appointment.

Hazel
**Hazel is currently in a foster home undergoing treatment for heartworm**
Hazel is 2-4 years old and 33 pounds. Hazel is on the shy side, but gains lots of confidence when around another dog, which is not surprising after living with 177 other dogs! Hazel needs a home with another playful doggy sibling to help ease her into the world she's missed out on. Hazel will do best in a home with patient teens or no children. She is a very sweet dog who will be a cuddly, lovable best friend once she settles into her new home. Hazel is heartworm positive and can only be adopted by a Vermont resident. We cover the treatment at our vet in Rutland. She also has a broken tooth and has an appointment on March 5th to see about removing it. She can be seen and adopted before this appointment.

April
Beagles lovers come meet April! This slightly shy but sweet 5-6 year old beagle came to us on January 31st after being seized with 12 other beagles from a hunter. They were living in small dirty cages without adequate food or water. We were able to help with four of those beagles and just got legal custody after their owner chose to finally surrender them.
April is a sweet and loving girl. She can be a little withdrawn around new people but once she opens up you'll see her true happy, loving playful, adorable personality! She has most likely spent her whole life outside and has never known true love. April adores other dogs and would really enjoy a dog in her home to play, cuddle with and to help show her all shes been missing out on. April has been wishing her whole life to find true love and happiness, are you the one to finally grant her wish?!

June
June represents everything beagle. She is loving, affectionate, resilient and good with other dogs. This petite 18 pound bundle of love came to us with 3 other beagles after 13 beagles were seized from a hunter. They were living in small dirty cages without adequate food and water.
June loves love and the more people she meets the happier she is! This girl has been a blessing to our staff and volunteers from the moment she graced us with her presence. She has been with us since January 31st while her owner fought to get his dogs back.
Thankfully he chose to surrender them and now June can finally get a family and loving home. A couch to cuddle one and to truly be loved and adored, as every dog should be. We are going to miss our daily June cuddles, but we are so honored to have been able to be apart of her journey to happiness!

Nani
Nani loves people so much she’d rather not share you! Nani is in a room with other cats and as long as they don’t invade her bubble she happily coexist, but to be the queen of her own castle would be her true bliss. She’s quick to greet every person who enters her room and she’ll be great company for some very lucky people.

Janet
Janet made the long trip from Lousiana while protecting and nursing her 6 kittens. Even on arrival Janet was sweet, asking for attention. Now that she is done being a mom at a year old, she is ready to live a life all about her. Janet loves people and rolls around happily asking for pets, makes it hard to get good pictures of her. Janet is an incredible kitty who deserves every good thing in life.

Fluffernutter
This kitty is as beautiful inside as she is outside!! Fluffernutter came in with her 3 kittens. She adores people and soaks up as much attention as she can. She does well with her kitty roommates, though some are a bit rude to her. The dog in her home was unkind to her so she’ll need a dog free home. Fluffernutter is FIV positive and she’ll need to be in an indoor only home. She can live with other cats as long as they are cat friendly. She’d also be happy being your one and only and getting all the love and treats!!

Leia
Leia loves people even more than she loves food! Leia is 2 years old and came to us because the other cats in her home were not kind to her. This has not made her mean toward other cats, she’s one of the nicest to her feline roommates. Leia has lived with cats, dogs and young children and did well with them all. She is a very chill girl who is happy to be pet and get some treats. Leia would do well in any home who wants an indoor kitty and whose cats will befriend her. She’s the sweetest girl and we’re excited to see her have a home where everyone will accept and love her, that’s all she’s ever wanted.
